What damage can a nuclear bomb do?
The radiation would kill for a huge radius. The wind would then blow it and its range wold be extended. It would pollute water and soil and animals for thousands of square miles (depending o the size of the bomb). Although, tests in evacuated cities around chernobyl which had a nuclear accident around 22 years ago shows that wildlife is back to normal levels so society would continue after a while.
