What current works embody the current literature movement?

This is my personal opinion, but what’s current in literature right now seems to be an offshoot of the fantasy genre — even in literary fiction. The South American/Spanish genre of “Magical Realism” is very current. A lot of modern American lit-fic at the moment is actually historical fiction: Atonement, Cold Mountain, Memoirs of a Geisha. There doesn’t seem to be one particular movement that’s sweeping the literary world at the moment, though. Again, purely my opinion.
