The best currency to bring if you want to bring cash is the United States Dollars. However, all foreign currency is accepted at money changers and most banks. It is best to try and bring new notes with you if you wish to bring cash and of the largest denominations. We recommend exchanging currency in high street banks rather than smaller money changers. The rates are more current and the tellers less prone to miscounting. There are many ATM’s and banks in Indonesia. They will dispense currency at a current rate of exchange.
