What Crohns disease diet is suggested?
There are no foods known to actually injure the bowel. However, during an acute phase of the disease, bulky foods, milk, and milk products may increase diarrhea and cramping. Generally, the patient is advised to eat a well-balanced diet, with adequate protein and calories. The importance of diet has been a source of confusion among patients. No particular food has ever been implicated in causing Crohn’s disease. Patients should eat a nutritious, well-balanced diet.
