The ADTA alternate route requirements include courses in: • dance/movement therapy theory and practice (270 hours or 18 credits) • group processes in dance/movement therapy (45 hours or 3 credits) • movement observation and analysis (90 hours or 6 credits) • kinesiology and/or human anatomy/kinesiology (45 hours or 3 credits) • internship in dance/movement therapy (700 hours) Alternate route students who have masters’ degrees in areas other than mental health (e.g., dance or education) must also complete a 200 hour practicum.
