What courses are required for an Associates Degree?
An Associate Degree represents a pattern of learning experiences designed to develop specific capabilities and insights and required proficiency in math, English, and sufficient depth in some field of knowledge. Students graduating with an Associate Degree usually have one of two purposes. Either the program prepares the student for transfer to a four-year college or university or prepares the student for employment. The degree is comprised of General Education courses and courses related to the program of study or major. General Education course work is intended to complement a single discipline or major. It provides a broad base of educational experience about aspects of the world which a major area of study may not include. Requirements for degrees and certificates can change from year to year. Therefore, a student enters the college and is expected to meet the graduation requirements from a specific catalog. These catalog rights, or the specific Associate Degree requirements linked
