What courses are available to students in Political Science?
The department offers a wide range of courses from the major subfields in Political Science. These areas include American Politics, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Political Economy, and Political Theory and Method. In American Politics, students may select among courses that focus on mass media, bureaucratic politics, parties, elections, public opinion, public policy, Congress, the Presidency, the Court, and Constitutional law. Courses in International Relations include areas such as international law and organization, national security policy, and foreign policy and diplomacy. Comparative Politics courses focus on the many regions of the world. Courses in both American and International Political Economy are available. Finally, the department offers courses on different schools and/or periods in the history of political thought, along with a general class focusing on the discipline.
