What country does smorgasbord come from?
Smorgasbord is a Scandinavian tradition that originates from Sweden, it is a meal made up of several dishes (buffet) starting with herring, eel and salmon. The correct protocol is to have several courses of small plates with small portions, it is considered rude to pile your plate with food. A typical Swede would start with seafood and move onto cold salad, cold meat, hot meat, dessert and then cheeses.
