What countries do blonde women mostly get hassled in?
China, though it is not unwanted attention from men, it is everyone looking at your hair with open curiosity. I travelled with my niece and nephew, both blond and blue eyes, and both had people (mostly women) constantly coming up to them and asking if they could touch their hair. They were so fascinated they usually didn’t even realise I was Caucasian myself. For Middle East, North African countries, you need to reinforce your non availability by putting on clothing less revealing than the usual tourist shorts and t-shirt. You will still have men coming to try to chat you up but less of them and they will not dare push too far because you won’t look like a “free for all” woman. And one thing more, they love to have a laugh by coming and offering for you, just to see the shocked or horrified face of the tourists. Different countries, different mores.
I live in Egypt and i can assure you that if you go to touristic locations like Sharm or Hurghada there is a small chance u will be hassled (like any other touristic location). However if u go to Cairo and walk in downtown with locals then there is a big chance of being hassled for being a tourist female and espcially if ur a blonde. But i dont think anyone would dare touch u, they stare, whistle and say arabic words but never touched Egyptian police is everywhere and it is a 5 yr prison sentence if u bother tourists.
