What could you give a border collie so it doesnt get bored and destroy things?
Nothing. No dog should be left alone all day and your Border Collie requires something to occupy it’s mind. A nyalabone is an inanimate opbject and it will quickly bore of it. If you are out all day, do not get a Border Collie. # PAT W: I have never said what you indicate in your first block of information, other than perhaps they are not the best first time breed for SOME people. I am VERY careful who I place puppies with and do not want morons owning and ruining one of my breed, to then claim they are monsters because they cannot take the time to train them. I do however agree with everything you say in your subsequent block.

Border Collies are NOT the following 1) Neurotic if given the proper training, socialization, and exercise 2) demon dogs from hell that will destroy your house if they have the proper SOCIALIZATION, TRAINING, and EXERCISE 3)Dogs that need to be on sheep 24/7 no matter what 4)Hyper, crazy dogs if bred properly, given enough TRAINING, and EXERCISE 5)Not the type of dog for first time owners 6)not the type of dog that should be bought and then left at home by him/herself uncrated to be a couch potatoe unless you WANT your couch destroyed and a neurotic dog Border Collies ARE: 1)Dogs that make great family/companion dogs with the right TRAINING/SOCIALIZATION and more TRAINING/EXERCISE and a knowledgable owner who has done their research and gotten their dog from a reputable breeder or rescue/shelter 2) dogs that excel at just about anything your willing to try ie agility, frisbee, freestyle, SAR, Tracking, Herding 3)dogs that need a good hour of both mental and physic
