What could keep causing strep throat?
There are quite a number of reasons for this. You could live in an area where there are a lot of strep carriers. Summer is the “strep season.” It tends to thrive when the air is warm and moist. Also, people get out more and so can infect each other more readily. The tropics, for instance, has a high incidence of strep – and strep complications. Or, you could be a strep carrier. You could have small pockets of strep infection which never quite clear up with an antibiotic course. If that is the case, then a tonsillectomy may be in order. The reason is that strep throat is the least dangerous condition. Certain strains of strep can cause Rheumatic Heart Disease, or kidney damage. These are not complications to be taken lightly. But, the choice is yours, after consultation with your doctor.
