What Could Cause The Feet And Ankles To Swell And Have Red Splotches And Sores On Them?
If a person is suffering from Still’s Disease, his or her feet and ankles swell and red splotches and sores develop on them. Still’s Disease is a type of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Most people who suffer from Still’s Disease are children, but adults can also suffer from what is known in medical terminology as adult-onset Still’s Disease. Still’s Disease was named after Sir George Frederic Still, who was born in the year 1861 and died at the age of 80 in the year 1941. It is characterised by high spiking fevers and transient rashes. The disease was first discovered in children. Nowadays, however, it also affects adults, though a fewer number of cases of adult-onset Still’s Disease have been discovered. While the exact causes of Still’s Disease still remain unknown, several theories suggest that Still’s Disease could either be caused by a microbacterial infection or it could be a result of an autoimmune disorder.
