What could cause knocking noise in engine at about 2500-3000 rpms?
I have a knocking noise coming from my engine at about 2500-3000 rpm’s. It will make this noise even in neutral when I rev the engine a little. I use the highest octane gas 93 and I checked the timing. Its not a pinging sound more like a knock. Somebody told me that it is the lifters or the rockers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is one of these problems any suggestions on how hard it would be to replace them and should I stop driving the car. I allready have stopped driving it because it is just a weekend toy.
