What could cause dull aching left flank pain?
Hello! I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. For the past 15 months, I have been trying to find out what is wrong with my 14 year old daughter. She has pain exactly as you describe, except that she constantly notes that the pain radiates down her legs (left worse than right). We have been to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati (they said she was depressed), hospitalized here in Ky. where she had ultrasounds of her ovaries, abdomen, kidneys, spleen, liver, gallbladder,thyroid and stomach. She was given a HIDA scan to test gall bladder function (even though it’s on the other side) and an x-ray of her sacral joint and ribs. She is scheduled for an mri of her spine this Friday, her 15th birthday. She has been told to take up yoga, to never exercise again, and basically been accused of faking. Her last referral visit was to an nurse/widwife who told her Motrin would make her all better (apparently this is nonremitting pms…) She has had blood work for everything you can think of,
