What corporate restaurant has the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwich?
D’angelo’s. They are a chain of sandwich shops throughout the New England states and Florida. I have had cheesesteaks all over the country, including Pat’s and Geno’s in Philadelphia. The cheesesteak at D’Angelo’s is the closest thing I’ve had to Pat’s anywhere else. I do prefer the Pat’s style of sandwich to that of Geno’s; but if you ask 100 people, you’ll get half of them preferring Pat’s the other half Geno’s. Most other places don’t know how to make a real Philly Cheesesteak. They think putting meat and cheese and onions on a roll is a Philly Cheesesteak; but it isn’t. It’s just a steak and cheese sandwich with onions. There is a certain feel and texture to a real Philly Cheesesteak. If they’ve never been to either Pat’s or Geno’s, they have no idea!
