The controller is factory set to auto select speed. When Copy is selected, the DVD/CD Copy Tower Pro HS will select the highest possible copy speed considering media selected and quality of the source. If you have a source disc of questionable quality, or media that is not speed certified, or you want additional assurance of the highest quality music CDs you can adjust both read and write speeds being used by the DVD/CD Copy Tower Pro HS.
