What controls the ISDs?

0

All control functions are generated by the NMC. The NMC and ISDs share a master-to-slave network topology. The ISDs cannot initiate commands. Constant polling occurs between the NMC and each ISD on the network. A constant ‘behind the scenes’ routing process whereby, if the NMC loses communication with any ISD, it will query other ISDs to retrieve missing devices and set up a new routing algorithm to maintain communications with those devices.
