What contributions are home builders making to assist the District?

0

For many years, local municipalities have imposed site contributions on homebuilders. These fees are used to offset the costs of purchasing and improving land for school construction. Recently, District 202 Superintendent John Harper was part of a negotiating team that brought impact fees to the district. Now, for the first time, the District will be able to collect impact fees from Developers, in addition to site contributions. These impact fees will be used to partially offset the cost of new construction in the school district. The school district is grateful to local municipalities for their support in imposing these fees since, as a school district, it does not have the authority to do so on its own.
