What contribution do the various assessment components make to my final module mark?
Details of the summative assessment components for each module are given in the official module description in the Faculty Handbook (together with the module prerequisites, learning outcomes, assessment and contact hours): go to http://www.dur.ac.uk/faculty.handbook/module_search/?search_dept=PHYS, click on the appropriate module then scroll down to “Summative Assessment” where the component weightings are listed. For some laboratory- or project-based modules a particular assessment component may be made up of several elements, in which case the breakdown of the element weightings is given too.
