What contribution could HR specialists make in terms of social responsibility within a business?
By choosing to employ those downtrodden and excluded people who don’t actually do a good job but make the “profile” of the company seem fair and equal in statistical surveys. Single mothers who always need to leave early and arrive late because of “childcare issues” that legally can’t be discriminated against. Old people who are forgetful and lack the drive to succeed. Ethnic minorities who expect unusual religious festivals off work, need to leave the office 5 times a day to pray (the new cigarette break), Disabled people who need an elevator especially fitted into a two-storey building so it nearly bankrupts the small business, etc. Young women who get pregnant within 6 months of starting the new job (usually after extensive/expensive company training) then demand paid leave and job share when they get back. All the usual stuff that a small business employer can’t discriminate at at interview to try and safe-guard their business and other employees security!! I’m sure you get the pic
