What constitutes outside funding? How much other funding can be used in conjunction with the CES award?

Other grants/scholarships/aid that is awarded for the same purpose as the CES fellowship (to fund the students pre-dissertation research trip in Europe) will be deducted from the CES award. CES will adjust their award accordingly to these situations. Assistantships are viewed as a form of earned income rather than aid and will not be deducted. Financial aid received for school/coursework is also not taken into consideration.
