In light of a rather disturbing thread about Hitler being a “good man”, it came to my mind to create a thread on revisionism vs. denial. Historical revisionism is the critical examination of facts that have been established by a majority for their own interests. For example in the US, White Male history is usually portrayed in a more positive light than in reality, and those pseudo-facts have been established and indoctrinated because it serves the interests of the Establishment. However, Howard Zinn, a historical revisionist came to challenge that idea in his book “A People’s History of the United States”. As a historian, Zinn came to believe that the point of view expressed in traditional history books was often limited.
