What constitutes billable time in the studio?
Anytime youre in the studio and were working for you, we consider that billable time. During load in, were listening to CDs youve brought ,developing and documenting our recording aesthetic and strategy. If were prepping your instruments, getting sounds, micing, listening, recording, editing, tuning, mixing, mastering, backing up data, burning you CDs, or tearing down and re-zeroing the room, its billable time. The mixing process is equally important as the recording process and can easily take as long as the recording process, depending on the complexity of the song(s), so be prepared.
