Hi Sky, There is no absolute definition of “basic kit”, but it usually means the camera body and an inexpensive medium zoom lens. Currently, the Pentax K20D basic kit is the camera body and the Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 medium zoom lens. It also comes with basic accessories: front and rear caps for the lens, fitted lens hood, camera battery, battery charger, power cord, USB cable, video cable, basic eyecup, body cap, hot shoe cover, eyepiece cover, software, and manual.
