What considerations are there for writing prescriptions that will go to mail service?
In order for your patients to make full use of the Caremark Mail Service Program, write one prescription for up to a 30-day supply for immediate needs (short-term medication to be filled at the local retail pharmacy) and a second prescription for the mail service pharmacy program with up to a 90-day supply of medication along with the appropriate number of refills (normally three refills – which is a year’s worth).
