The posts are attached through the bottom of the Raingutter/Header. To achieve maximize awning strength, you can use an extruded raingutter/header assembly. This assembly doubles as a structural beam and a “cleanable” rain gutter. The posts are directly under the gutter (A downspout and elbow is also included with your awning).
