What concentration of flavour substance should I use to train a novice assessor?

0

FlavorActiV recommend using a concentration of 6x the flavour threshold to train and validate novice assessors who have some experience of the industry (one or two years). In a less selected population (ie the man in the street), the novice assessor may find even this concentration of flavour substance difficult to identify. Under these circumstances, 9x – 12x flavour threshold might be more appropriate.
