What computing resources will be available through the courtesy account?
The user will have a UTD email inbox. If a new account is being created, the default mail server is CYRUS/IMAP. The new user can request an inbox on the Exchange server instead by contacting the Help Desk (972-883-2911 or assist@utdallas.edu). If the user already has an active email account and is changing to a retiree courtesy account, their email inbox does not change. The user can access http://netid.utdallas.edu to manage their account, change their password, setup their email, and download the free VPN and McAfee software. The user can access http://galaxy.utdallas.edu to access their email inbox and view the HOME tab information. The user can use the ssh protocol to access infoserv@utdallas.edu. From there, the user can login and use the File Manager function to access and maintain home directory files. Contact the UTD Help Desk if you need assistance.
