What computer skills do UPOP students possess?
Programming languages in which many UPOP students are proficient include: Java, JavaScript, Perl, C, C++, Visual Basic, XML, Fortran, Pascal, and others. Nearly all students are very familiar with Unix operating systems (in addition to Microsoft Windows) due to the Athena computing environment at MIT. Many have experience with mathematics software such as Maple, Matlab, and Mathematica. And some have experience in designing web pages, using programs such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Microsoft Frontpage, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and Pagemaker. Finally, many UPOP students are also familiar with AutoCad as well as 3-D modeling software.
