One goal of the SInRG project to to create a heterogeneous computational evironment. As a result, several different computer architectures can be found on the grid. The two most prominent architectures found on SInRG are Sun’s Sparc architecture, running Solaris 8 or 9 and the x86 architecture, running Linux.
