What Composers Wrote Chamber Music?
Almost all of the classical composers wrote chamber music and played it. Indeed, many of them reserved their finest efforts for their chamber music. Some examples are Beethoven’s string quartets, piano trios by Brahms and Schubert, and Mozart’s inspired quintet for piano and woodwinds. Then, there are contemporary works like the the two fine pieces for woodwind quintet and piano by composers Francis Poulenc and Gordon Jacob.
