In my experience, there is not a great deal of difference in pricing, after it is all said and done, because even if you get a good rate at the beginning, it will probably go up when your contract is up. However, with the gaining popularity of VoIP, digital phone and bundled services, phone companies are under pressure to lower their rates and/or find other services to bundle with phone. The best way to find what is cheapest for you is to do some research. Find out what companies offer phone service in your area and compare prices. Decide whether or not you are willing to switch your cable and internet service to another company to save on a bundle.
