WHAT COMMITTEES DO MOST EDUCATION-RELATED PIECES OF LEGISLATION GET ASSIGNED?
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Currently, the Alabama House of Representatives has 31 standing committees to which introduced House bills are assigned. Most, if not all, education-related bills will be assigned to “education specific” committees such as the House Ways and Means Education Committee and the House Education Policy Committee. ALABAMA SENATE Currently, the Alabama Senate has 24 standing committees to which introduced Senate bills are assigned. As in the House, most, if not all, education-related bills will be assigned to “education specific” committees in the Senate as well such as the Senate Finance & Taxation Education Fund Committee and the Senate Education Committee.
