What comes under the purview of civil courts?

0

Civil Courts judges hear all civil cases where money is being sought but the damage limit is $25,000. If it is in excess of $ 25,000, then the case is commenced in the Supreme Court generally. The other work that the civil courts judges do is all small claims work, which is very important. That is one area where civil court judges have a lot of interaction with community, because usually, small claims cases are brought by people who are representing themselves in small disputes with their neighbors, dry cleaners etc. And then the third area is real estate. Any real estate case is brought to the court, commercial real estate case is brought to the commercial part in the civil court, and if it is a residential case, it is brought to housing part. We dont have much dealings with the housing part because of the restructuring in the courts which was done in 1997 when they hired more housing court judges to handle those cases. What exactly is your jurisdiction? A: My jurisdiction is personal
