What colour shall I paint my room?
As i say to my customers, “it is your house and you have to live with it, i can only suggest ideas” it depends on what type of colour you like, browns, creams, oranges etc… and also the size of the room, try and stay with lighter shades in small rooms as this will make it feel more spacious, or if you want an injection of colour use an accent wall, this also works well in larger rooms, but with larger rooms you can use darker or more intense colours instead of being limited to the lighter shades. suggestions my past customers have used are: Calico: soft brown/cream nuetral, can be used in all size rooms Truffle: darker brown used as an accent in smaller rooms. Californian Poppy: orangey red colour, quite intense, really warm feel. Buttermilk: very popular cream colour you can use on its own or use it with an accent wall Duckegg blue: a more greenier blue, doesnt feel as “cold” as a normal blue, if you want to keep/like your blue colour the list goes on get some colour charts from B&Q
Mellow orange is a very warm colour but it might not be the ideal colour if you work in that room most of the time, so i recommend mellow yellow or beige/sandstone. I painted my room beige/sandstone and I love it… I’m in my room most of the time working and I don’t get sick of this modern and sophisticated colour. Remember: don’t paint your “working room” a vibrant or bright colour because it is distracting!!
