BLUE. This is because the oxygen carrying pigment in horseshoe crab blood is a protein called hemocyanin. Similar to the hemoglobin we have in our blood which is red because of the iron molecule in the center of the protein. Hemocyanin contains a copper molecule which results in a blue color.
