What colour is a polar bear?
Almost pure white in cubs and in adults just following yearly molt. May change to creamy, yellowish white when oils are oxidized by the sun. They are hollow and transparent, but appear white because the irregularities within the hollow shaft scatters and reflects sunlight. All visible light is reflected (which is why we see the bear as white). But Polar Bear’s nose, footpads, claws and skin are black.
