What color mode should my photographs be saved in – RGB or CMYK?

All photographic images must be saved in RGB (Red-Green-Blue) color mode before sending the file(s) to NCM or a service bureau for final slide output. CMYK (Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black) is a four-color ink process meant specifically for printed materials; RGB is a three-color “film” process meant for 35mm slide output on a digital film recorder. Photographic images that are not converted from CMYK to RGB will appear harsh and unnatural when shot to 35mm film because the film recorder tries interpolating the four-color photographic image into a three-color film process, creating a severe color imbalance at final output.
