If your thinking of purchasing a light to grow plants, the largest factor is what TYPE of light that you purchase, not particularly the color. Depending on the type of light, the spectrum that is emitted shall change. For instance, Incandesant lamps are not really that good for stimulating plant growth, because they do not emit much red and blue light (needed for photosynthesis) they work better has a “night break” for an hour or so after dusk. Really if you want to grow any plant, the best lights are just a plain flourescent light or a Metal halite light. Metal halite has the best spectrum and is used in most greenhouses, but its quite expensive for household use.
