What color is lobster supposed to be?
The shell should be a bright orange-red color. But just because the shell is red does not mean the meat is done. The meat should be cooked similar to shrimp. When it’s raw it looks glistening, when it is cooked it should be an opaque, milky white. And definitely be careful not to overcook. Total boil time should be 8-10 minutes for one tail. Be sure to flavor the water, too. It will help season the meat as it cooks. Yum!
