What college major would should I choose to become a television/movie critic?

Getting a college degree should be about obtaining a base of knowlege that will carry you through life. It is common for people who major in TV/Film programs not to find work in that field. They spend 4 years wasting their time in low work demand classes. A minor in English, with two years of a foreign language, and some reading background of history is needed to give your writing some depth. Knowing something about the working operations of a theater, maybe actually being involved in a play(s) to know something of the demands in the industry would add additonal depth and credibility. Its rather shallow to critise someone without actually having been in that field yourself. Manytimes college graduates get jobs from their minor rather than their major. So consider a major in another area with real job propects.
