What college counseling does the Academy provide?

0

The college counseling process is an exciting one in the life of any young person. The college counselors at The Governor’s Academy are eager to provide support and assistance to our students and their parents to help the process be a satisfying one. To begin the Academy’s college counseling process, students meet with one of our two college counselors beginning in late January of their junior year. With 30 years of college counseling experience, Mrs. Janet Adams-Wall advises students and their parents on college choices based on each students academic progress, extracurricular accomplishments, needs and ambitions. Mr. Shawn Markey, Associate Dean of Students, works with 15 students each year. Each year, The Governor’s Academy hosts an informational College Day program for students and their parents featuring a prominent college admission officer as guest speaker prior to attending a College Fair where students can speak with admission officers from over 100 colleges.
