What classes should I take in high school to become a geologist?

Shaun Perkins

High school students who intend to become geologists should take classes that will prepare them for a geology degree in college. These include classes in environmental science, chemistry, physics, and calculus. Many high schools do not offer geology classes, but taking the above-mentioned science and math classes will prepare a student for the geology classes that will be offered in college. Other courses that could be helpful are geography, archeology, and even world history–which can give students a background in cultures they may encounter when doing geological research and work. Lastly, courses in research, statistics, and technology will be helpful in communicating the specific subject matter of geology.

I suggest you take all the Science courses you can get: Chemistry, Physics, Mathmatics, and of course Geology [if available in your high school].
