What Classes Are Required to Become an Oncologist?
Oncologists are medical practitioners who are trained to diagnose and treat cancerous tumors. They can specialize in fields like pediatrics, radiation oncology, medical oncology and gynecologic oncology. Oncologists work in hospitals, clinics, research centers and medical centers. Similar to medical practitioners, oncologists must first attend medical school and complete their residency. In addition, they are required to be licensed prior to starting their practice.
