The band called The Strokes is from New York City, New York. But, they all have diverse ethnic origins. Fabrizio Moretti (drums) was actually born in the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His parents are Brazilian and Italian. Julian Casablancas (the lead singer) is Spanish-American. He is the son of a Spanish-American father, who came from Sabadell, Spain and his mom is Danish. Nick Valensi (lead guitarist) is Jewish. His father was born in Tunisia. Albert Hammond, Jr. (rhythm guitar) has parents that were Gibraltarian and Argentine. Nikolai Fraiture (bass) had Russian and French parents.
