What Cities are Near Fort Myers, Florida?
Fort Myers, situated in southwest Florida, is surrounded by wildlife, white sandy beaches and many uninhabited islands. The city has a metropolitan downtown, as well as a beach area that is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The Fort Myers area has many historic sites, such as the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. Other popular attractions include the Murder Mystery Dinner Train, Southwest Florida Museum of History and the Centennial Park. Bonita Springs The city of Bonita Springs was first incorporated in 1925 and then again in the late 1990s. It was named after a medicinal spring on the property of the Shangri La Hotel, although before that, the city was called Survey. Prosperity came to Bonita Springs when a developer named Barron Collier built the Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) and railroad right by the town. This facilitated the transit of
