What cichlids in a 10 gallon tank?
I do not recommend ANY American Cichlids for a tank that small. Firemouths, Convicts and Blockheads get too big and need over 30 gallons. Apistogrammas, Rams and Kribensis, despite their relatively small size, need much larger tanks for stability and territories, ideally over 20 gallons. I have a pair of Cockatoo Apistos which dominate their 20g, I wouldn’t dream of cramming them in anything smaller!! The ONLY Cichlid I’d recommend for a 10g is one male and a couple of female Neolamprologus multifasciatus. They need a sand substrate with lots of empty snail shells, they are called Shelldwellers for a reason! They are Tanganyikan African Cichlids so need alkaline conditions. http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Many_Band… They are small enough to be housed in a 10g.
