What child care programs are available?
The Basic Sliding Fee Child Care Assistance Program at Resources for Child Caring is part of the Ramsey County Child Care Assistance Programs. The monies used to pay for child care assistance are tax dollars allotted by the state legislature to the Minnesota Department of Children, Families, and Learning, which is then distributed to the 87 counties in the state. The Minnesota state legislature determines the program rules, amount of co-payment assigned to income levels, and maximum allowable rates for different types of care. Program rules are very detailed and provide a structured framework by which counties are required to administer the child care assistance funds allotted to them.
