It wasn’t long ago that the only place you could swim in salt water was at the beach. A few luxury hotels and cruise ships began installing saltwater pools a few years ago, and the popularity is growing to private pools in backyards across the country. While these pools still need cleaning procedures in place and general maintenance, the need for chemical additives is almost nonexistent, therefore reducing costs. In addition, these pools do not have the eye irritation problems of traditional pools and are much less harsh on the skin.
