What charities does Canadian Guild of Knitters support?
We don’t have an ‘official charity.’ In 2003 we began “Knitting Knitters Together,” a program to help knitters who have had a serious event such as fire or flood, who need to re-build their knitting lives. When we are contacted, we send a complete knitting project to individuals in need. We also assist charity groups such as Guardian Angels (no longer in place), Angel Hugs, and Knit for the Cure. We recently learned of a group knitting for children in Northern Labrador, and will be supporting this group’s charity efforts in Canada. Personally, Cynthia supports the Arthritis Society, and she encourages all knitters to do so.
